Anthony Xavier Ruiz came into this world July 6, 2005, 3 months earlier than his expected due date of September 18. We knew that he would have respiratory problems and other heath conditions being premature, so we were expecting some complications. What we did not know is that our son had Jeune’s Syndrome.

At birth it was very noticeable that Anthony has a very small thorax and short neck. All his limbs were normal length and his weight was pretty good for being early (he was 3 pounds and 12 ounces at birth.) Anthony was born at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara California.
